Adversarial Thinking Workshop

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Failure to think adversarially is at the root of untold numbers of security failures. A broad range of systems ranging from voting machines to airport body scanners to medical devices such as pacemakers have been found to be vulnerable to simple attacks which were apparent if you thought about the system the way an attacker does. Unfortunately, this kind of thinking doesn't come naturally; it's much easier to think of the system being used the way it was designed to be used. In this session we'll use the case study of designing a corporate survey system, starting with a naive design, finding as many flaws as we can, trying to correct them, and then trying to break the improved designs.
